I specialise in women’s health, including perimenopause, thyroid, menstrual problems and intimate health conditions. I also have extensive experience in dealing with gastro-intestinal complaints, food sensitivities, blood sugar dysregulation and weight loss issues.
Have you been struggling with health challenges for years but have been told that all your test results are “normal”? My mission is to unravel your health story to get to the heart of the problem.
Functional medicine looks at the person as a whole. Very often, for example, female hormonal problems and skin issues are actually rooted in the gut. Difficulty losing weight may be as a consequence of stress. Problems in the gut may be coming from compromised nerve activity in the brain. Fatigue may be caused by inadequate nutritional intake.
Using the functional medicine model I will aim to get to the root cause of your symptoms or condition. I will support you in making dietary changes and lifestyle modifications. I will use functional lab testing where appropriate.
I work with all the leading laboratories in the UK and offer a variety of functional testing: advanced female hormones, gastro-intestinal health, food sensitivities, adrenal health, genetic testing, health of your gut/oral/vaginal/urinary microbiomes, detoxification, methylation and more.
At the start of our journey together I will gather a lot of information about your health through careful history taking. We will discuss all your body systems, I will ask you about your health from birth to present day, your level of physical exercise, your lifestyle, life stresses and dietary habits (using your completed food diary as reference). I will explain how I believe that these factors may be contributing to your health issues.
From this, a nutritional programme will be developed that is completely unique to you and that works for you. Your treatment plan will reflect the goals that we agree for you, and it is likely to include nutritional advice, lifestyle changes, functional lab testing and supplement recommendations.
Only by tackling the root cause of a health issue will there be permanent long term health improvements.
If you’d like to know more about how I can support your health and to discuss which package is best suited for your needs, please book a free no-obligations call. I would love to hear from you.
